We are teachers and students... (read more)

 TOR-MenorahTOR Tree of Life

Temple Or Rishon has a beautiful Tree of LIfe Plaque.   This plaque provides an opportunity for us to honor special people in our lives and memories or to honor life cycle events such as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings.   You can honor a loved one or celebrate a special event for a donation of $125 per leaf.   The leaves are engraved locally and will be ready in only a few days.   To purchase a Tree of LIfe leaf, please fill out our Tree of LIfe Form, enclose a check for $125, and mail it to the Temple Office.

TOR's Yahrzeit Memorial Wall

Temple Or Rishon also has a beautiful Yahrzeit Memorial Wall in our Synagogue. Our Yahrzeit Memorial Wall provides an opportunity to remember those who have touched our lives but who are no longer with us. When you light a light on the memorial wall, you are rekindling the light of their spirit. Each plaque has its own light, and the light will be lit once on the Friday before the annual Yahrzeit and on Yom Kippur Day. Orders for reserved spaces on our Memorial Wall are now being taken. To purchase a Yahrzeit Memorial Wall Plaque, please fill our our Yahrzeit Memorial Wall Plaque form and mail it to the Temple Office.

Or Rishon Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

The Weltsch family invites Temple Or Rishon to share in the joyous occasion of Sam’s Bar Mitzvah on April 8th, 2017. Sam has been a student at Temple Or Rishon for a year and a half. He is in 7th grade at Cavitt Junior High School in Granite Bay. When he isn’t going to school, Sam enjoys taking photos and spending time with friends. Sam has decided to help Backpackaid.org for his Mitzvah project. This organization collects travel size items which are then distributed in backpacks to those in need in the local community. Sam has been collecting sample sizes of shampoo, lotion, sunscreen, first aid supplies and other items which could be useful to someone without a home. If you have items to donate, we will have a basket at Sam’s Bar Mitzvah service. Thank you in advance for your donations.

Emily Mastman

Hi my name is Emily Mastman, my Bat Mitzvah is February 18th, 2017. Temple Or Rishon has been a welcoming community for me since I was four years old and now I’m in 7th grade. When I grow up I am interested in photography or film making at UCLA. I can’t wait to reach my goal of becoming a Bat Mitzvah this February and I’m beyond ex-cited to share this achievement with my family and friends.
